B2B distribution, energy
ACTIVITY
Operating in 19 countries, Rexel is the French leader in the distribution of electrification and energy optimization solutions and a key player in the energy transition.
CONTEXT
Following an initial awareness campaign on responsible digital practices in 2023, Rexel undertook an accessibility audit of one of its internal tools to identify priority areas for action. The audit focused on a business application that consolidates data from multiple sources and supports employees in their daily tasks. This effort kickstarts a continuous improvement approach: enhancing IT teams’ skills and integrating accessibility from the design phase of future projects.
The project at a glance
To ensure the accessibility of a key piece of software used daily by employees, Rexel conducted a full audit based on 53 applicable criteria out of the 106 in the RGAA.
The analysis identified non-compliance issues and potential corrective actions, which were shared in a dedicated workshop with the IT teams.
This gave the teams the tools to structure a gradual, manageable correction plan, supporting long-term, continuous improvement.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
- Assess the accessibility level of a key internal software tool
- Identify compliance gaps and define corrective actions
- Equip IT teams to understand and apply RGAA standards
- Gradually integrate accessibility into software development cycles
- Extend the responsible digital approach launched by Rexel in 2023 to include accessibility
